Abstract: Transdermal drug delivery systems (TDDS) offer a promising alternative to conventional drug administration routes, providing controlled release, improved bioavailability, and reduced side effects. This study focuses on the development and evaluation of a Transdermal patch formulated using
Moringa oleifera leaf extract, known for its rich phytochemical content and diverse therapeutic properties, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial activities. The extract was incorporated into a polymeric matrix using suitable film-forming agents such as HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), Polyethylene glycol 400, Glycerol, Dimethyl sulfoxide and Gelatin to create a flexible and stable Transdermal film. The patches were evaluated for physicochemical characteristics such as thickness, tensile strength, folding endurance, moisture content, and drug content uniformity. The results demonstrated that the
Moringa based Transdermal patches possess desirable mechanical and biological properties, making them a potential carrier for sustained and targeted drug delivery. This formulation highlights the therapeutic potential of
Moringa leaf extract and supports its application in Transdermal delivery systems for enhanced patient compliance and efficacy.
