Abstract: Rabindranath Tagore, a literary titan and cultural icon, has left an indelible mark on India's intellectual and aesthetic heritage. His multidimensional contributions—as a poet, playwright, painter, philosopher, and educator—not only enriched Indian literature and art but also laid a foundation for cultural consciousness that transcends temporal and geographic boundaries. This paper explores how Tagore’s legacy has been preserved, interpreted, and integrated into the sphere of cultural tourism in India, with a particular focus on destinations such as Shantiniketan, a living embodiment of his vision. By examining literary pilgrimages, aesthetic experiences, heritage architecture, and institutional initiatives associated with Tagore, this study investigates how his ideals continue to attract both domestic and international tourists. It also addresses the commodification of cultural symbols, the role of narrative heritage in tourism development, and the challenges of preserving authenticity in an era of globalized travel. The research utilizes qualitative methodologies, including content analysis of tourism literature, interviews with cultural practitioners, and on-site observations. Through a critical lens, the study reveals the dynamic interplay between Tagore’s enduring philosophy and the evolving demands of cultural tourism. It underscores the potential of Tagorean heritage to foster cultural education, sustainable tourism, and inter-cultural dialogue in the 21st century.
