Abstract: The latest marine trend has taken the issue of green logistics seriously particularly in the developing countries where growth should be environmentally friendly. Focusing on such projects as the building of green ports, the use of alternative fuel, the development of digitalization and access to the community, the given research provides a comprehensive description of the sustainability of the shipping logistics business in India. As is highlighted in this paper, India is going in the right direction in terms of aligning to the global practices of achieving sustainability, trying to resolve the domestic issues by an endeavor of capturing the modern activities in the big ports and shipping businesses. In order to put the Indian initiative situation into the right perspective within the international dialogue, the comparative views to such foreign hotspots as Singapore, Rotterdam, and Shanghai are given. These findings demonstrate the opportunities and obstacles that the Indian marine industry experiences, and it requires smart logistics, renewable energy, and international collaboration. The research contributes to the knowledge base both in the conclusion, which gives a structured summary of the environmentally friendly shipping logistics procedures in India, and in how it may impact sustainability at regional and international levels.
