Effect of social media on Youths: An empirical study with special reference to India

Abstract: The pervasive use of social networking sites in India has increased among the younger generation. In contemporary society, the use of social media has become an essential component of daily human existence. This research elucidates the patterns of social media consumption and its effects on youngsters. The contemporary social networking culture has been embraced and received an enthusiastic reaction. Studies clearly indicate that social media has both beneficial and detrimental effects on kids.
This research examines the complex and varied impacts of social media on adolescents. The research examines the intricate impacts of social media use on several aspects of youth development via a comprehensive review of case studies & secondary sources. The findings indicate a dichotomy between the benefits of self-expression, community development, and connectivity, and the drawbacks of distractions, cyberbullying, along with mental health concerns.
The research elucidates the challenges young people face when navigating this digital landscape. This study aims to provide an extensive understanding of the dynamic interactions between adolescents and social media, assisting researchers, educators, and parents in efficiently navigating this fast-evolving environment.
