Assessing the role of education in climate resilience: A case study of rice farmers in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam
Author(s): Sofia Costa
Abstract: This paper evaluates the role of education in enhancing climate resilience among rice farmers in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam, a region significantly impacted by climate change. Through a case study approach, the paper investigates how educational programs can improve farmers' understanding of climate change and encourage the adoption of climate-smart agricultural practices. Using data from surveys and interviews with local farmers, the study assesses the effectiveness of educational interventions, such as workshops and training sessions on sustainable rice farming practices. The findings suggest that education plays a crucial role in improving climate resilience, helping farmers to adapt to changing weather patterns, manage water resources more efficiently, and increase productivity despite the challenges posed by climate variability.
