Author(s): Vasu Malik
Abstract: This study investigates the frequency and purpose of using web-based library resources by research scholars in Delhi. With the increasing digitization of academic materials, understanding how scholars engage with electronic journals, databases, e-books, and institutional repositories is essential for optimizing library services and enhancing research productivity. A structured questionnaire was administered to 300 research scholars across various disciplines, supplemented by interviews to gather qualitative insights. Findings reveal that most scholars access digital resources regularly, primarily for literature review, data collection, and manuscript preparation. However, challenges such as limited digital literacy, complex database navigation, and technical access issues hinder effective use. The study underscores the importance of targeted training programs and infrastructural support to maximize the benefits of web-based resources. These findings provide valuable guidance for academic libraries and policymakers aiming to improve digital resource utilization and support scholarly excellence in Delhi.
