The influence of emotional intelligence on student academic success

Abstract: Emotional intelligence (EI) has emerged as a significant factor influencing students' academic performance. This article explores the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic success in various educational settings. By analyzing key components of emotional intelligence—self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—this study examines how emotional intelligence contributes to improved academic outcomes. Furthermore, this review evaluates existing literature on the subject and discusses practical implications for educators, students, and policymakers in fostering emotional intelligence to enhance student performance.
