Relationship between parenting styles and emotional well-being on senior high school students academic activities in Asikuma Odoben-brakwa district

Abstract: The study investigated the Relationship between Parenting Styles and Emotional Well-Being on Senior High School Students Academic Activities in Asikuma Odoben-Brakwa District. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used for the study, along with a quantitative approach. One hundred and fifty students were selected for the study using a multi-stage sampling technique. Questionnaire was used to collect data. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyse the data. The study found a significant positive correlation between parenting styles and the emotional well-being of Senior High School students; to a large extent, students' emotional well-being influenced their academic activities. It was concluded that parenting styles and emotional well-being had a large positive correlation, which largely influenced their academic activities. It was recommended that during Parent Teacher Association meetings, the guidance coordinator should guide parents on parenting style practices that could help improve children emotional well-being.
