Green synthesis and characterization of copper oxide nanoparticles
Author(s): Monika and Dharmbir Singh
Abstract: The green synthesis of nanomaterials is a practical, affordable, and environmentally sustainable approach in the field of material science. Out of such green synthesized nanomaterials, some Metal Oxide nanoparticles like Copper Oxide nanoparticles have several biomedical applications because of their antibacterial properties. In present paper, the Copper oxide nanoparticles have been synthesized by green synthesis method utilizing
Aloe vera leaf extract and the precursor CuCl
2.2H
2O (Cupric chloride). For this synthesis, the extraction of
Aloe vera is used as a reducing agent. The synthesized copper oxide nanoparticles were characterized using XRD and UV-Vis Spectrophotometer. The crystalline character of copper oxide nanoparticles is demonstrated by XRD analyses. Further results are compared with the earlier published similar works which are found in very good agreement.
