Library services during COVID-19 Pandemic: A study of selected libraries in North Bengal under the region of West Bengal State

Abstract: The global impact of the COVID 19, on education was immense as it led to the closure of schools and libraries around the world. It delves into the challenges faced by libraries during this time. Highlights the solutions they implemented to facilitate continued access to resources throughout prolonged shutdowns. The research methodology involved a combination of interviews, surveys and online investigations focusing on 09 libraries, in 03 districts of North Bengal encompassing types of libraries including public, school and college libraries. The study emphasizes the obstacles that libraries encountered including issues, with their technology setup and budget constraints as the resistance of users towards adopting digital tools. A few libraries successfully adapted by providing services such, as e references and virtual story sessions while others grappled with connectivity problems and inadequate resources. During the times faced by libraries played a role, in ensuring that knowledge remained available to everyone amidst the crisis situation that unfolded. This research highlights the significance of getting ready for difficulties through the upgrade of library systems. Integrating methods and cloud technology while enhancing training for both employees and patrons. Moreover it praises the strength and inventiveness exhibited by libraries during this trying period. Acknowledges the impact of innovation and collaboration in guaranteeing information access, for all individuals.
