Storytelling in libraries: A tool for academic Excellence

Abstract: Storytelling has long been recognized as a powerful medium for communication, cultural transmission, and education. Within the realm of library services, storytelling functions as a critical tool for fostering literacy, encouraging lifelong learning, and strengthening community engagement. This paper explores the multifaceted role of storytelling in libraries, examining its impact on literacy development, educational enrichment, and social inclusion. The discussion also highlights the evolving role of librarians, the integration of digital storytelling technologies, and challenges faced in implementing storytelling initiatives. A literature review provides theoretical and empirical insights into the educational benefits of storytelling. The paper concludes by advocating for sustained support and innovation in storytelling programs to maximize their educational potential.
