Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during winter seasons of 2018-19 at the Agronomy Research Farm of Agricultural Faculty at Takhar University with the objective to study the effect of seeding rate on growth and yield of wheat. The experiment was in five seeding rate
viz. 80, 100, 120, 140 and 160 kgha
-1 and laid out in RCBD with four replication. All of the growth and yield characters were significantly affected by seeding rate except straw yield and harvest index. The highest plant height (104.50cm), tillers plant
-1(9.50), spike plant-1(8.50), spikelets spike
-1 (16.50), 1000 grain weight (33.75) and grain yield (4.94 t ha
-1) were recorded from the seeding rate of 140 kg ha
-1. So it may be stated that the seeding rate of 140 kg ha
-1 will be better performance of wheat Mazar-99.
