Abstract: This paper presents the solar energy current production in India from different stats and needs of solar energy for rural area development in India. The solar energy could supply all the present and future energy needs of the world. The most explored renewable energy technologies for power generation in India, namely, Solar pond, and Solar Photovoltaic systems need more sophistication for long-term benefits.
