Abstract: Creating specific lessons for different language skills is challenging and time consuming for English teachers. Teaching language skills through mechanical exercises such as fill-in-the-blank, true/ false, and multiple-choice assessments does not interest students as much as we expect. Rather, learners like a variety of activities and materials to enjoy learning process. This article suggests motivating ways to teach different elements of English language with audiovisual techniques like videos and so on which not only energize learners, but also inspire them for more participation. Although making use of videos, tapes and other tools producing sounds in Afghanistan language classrooms look less applicable due to lack of access of teachers to such materials, those schools and educational institutions that have these materials must use them in their classrooms as much as possible for enhancing students’ language knowledge.
